What does the word mother mean to you, and how would you describe your role as a mother? I am a mom to three 'tweens, and also a high school teacher. I consider myself a second mother to my students as well. When I am "mothering," I am loving, nurturing and taking care of that child. It brings me a lot of joy in life to "mother!" In fact, it is one of my favorite things to do!
What's been your favorite aspect of being a mother? How has it changed as your child/children have grown?
Being a mother has brought purpose into my life. As I watch my children and students grow up, I feel proud of the people who they are becoming because I know I had a part in influencing them to become who they are. I also feel humbled knowing that I wouldn't be half the person I am today without their presence.
What traits, habits and little bits of wisdom did you carry on from your mother or mother/parent figure?
My mother taught me to NEVER STOP LOVING even when the going gets tough and the tough gets going. I was a difficult child but she never gave up on me, and I'm still very close with her. I would never have gotten to where I am today without my mom guiding me every step of the way. I try my best to be like her, and I hope that one day my children will look up to me the way that I look up to her. How do you self-care during those tough mommy moments? What's your top go-to and why?
Body burn, CYL Sauna, red wine, and the best husband ever!
How do you integrate health and wellness into your life? Your family?
You have to make a strong effort to prioritize your health, but the benefits pay off. Body Burn has added a new dimension to my health and overall strength- I really can't imagine my life now without Body Burn. It is my mental AND my physical release, and when I can't do it for more than a few days at a time I just don't feel good about it at all. What is your favorite Lagree move? What changes do you feel /see since starting at Body Burn?
It's hard to pick a favorite but I really love the glute isolating exercises. Side leg sweep at the end of a tough glute routine is probably my favorite, but I also really like back lunge, fifth lunge, elevator, escalator, and side skating. How will you spend your Mother's Day?
With my children and wonderful husband, of course- BUT I also plan to make time for myself by attending Body Burn and taking a hot bath!
