What does the word mother mean to you, and how would you describe your role as a mother?
Motherhood is the ultimate roller coaster. From ups and downs to love and hate to fast and slow and worry and comfort, past and future, defeat and reward. I’ve always said it’s a thankless job at times but one I would never change. My kids are truly life’s greatest gift.
What's been your favorite aspect of being a mother? How has it changed as your child/children have grown?
My favorite aspect of being a mother has to be watching them grow into a mix of my husband and myself.
What traits, habits and little bits of wisdom did you carry on from your mother or mother/parent figure?
Dinner time was always important to my mom, and one I have tried to carry on in my own family. It may not always work out with our busy schedule, but it’s a time to connect as a family and catch up, and therefore we prioritize it whenever we can.
How do you self-care during those tough mommy moments? What's your top go-to and why?
Asking for help. It’s taken years to ask but whether it be friends, my husband or grandparents, I have truly realized it takes a village and I’m so lucky to such an amazing support system around me.
How do you integrate health and wellness into your life? Your family?
I like to use the 80/20 rule with myself and my family. I love to cook and am always looking for new healthy recipes that are quick and family friendly. We still love our treats too and enjoy baking cookies together or getting ice cream. All about balance.
What is your favorite Lagree move? What changes do you feel /see since starting at Body Burn?
It’s a love hate with every move! It’s been over a year since I started and it’s still hard - every single class! So much more core strength and ab definition and zero back pain from the workouts. I also love the community of women I see at Body Burn, they make getting up for a 5:30am class worth it (as do the shakes!)
